My review is 😳.I should have known with it being a Steinbeck novel. Funny thing is, I'm waiting to read Of Mice & Men with the kids because the content is harsh, but this was just as harsh. It’s a cautionary tale of what greed & materialism can cost you. It is a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ noel because it serves its purpose, and it is a good read despite the content being dark.
It truly helps to have the discussion as you read this one with your kids/students. It is heavy and contains very sensitive content.
